About us

The Internet-gallery of contemporary Christian art «Artos» is one of the key activities of the same-name Fellowship.

Our Fellwoship was established in 2014 to promote contemporary Christian art in Russia. We publish almanac “Dary” (Gifts), conduct the Laboratory of Church Art and Architecture, organize exhibitions and conferences devoted to the development of theology of the image, exploring the interrelation of tradition, canon and innovation, cooperates with Russian and international artists, creative communities, museums and cultural centers.

We are convinced that Christian art is alive worldwide. Today it’s an integral part of not only the world’s cultural heritage, a subject to preservation and museumification, but it is the contemporary art in the literal sense of this word – new, vibrant, it is not a mere imitation of ancient patterns and is in constant creative search. Iconpainters, artists, sculptors, calligraphers create today amazing works of both traditional and contemporary art, experiment with new materials and technologies.

A variety of areas of this search is presented in the “Artos” gallery. Our curators carefully select both artists and their works for our gallery. We also sell books and calatogues.

We do not cooperate with commercial icon-painting workshops and manufacturers of the mass segment of church utensils.
